Today.com Chic Gadget: “Bookswim: the NetFlix for Bookworms”

BookSwim calls itself the Netflix for Books, which means that any book lover can sign up for membership, pay a fee and create a list of books to rent at a time. Any book you rent out gets shipped to you, read it for as long as you’d like and then ship it back and they will send the next ones on your queue. And if you really, really loved what you’ve just read, you have the option to buy the book for yourself.

That last option seems to be the best reason for trying out BookSwim’s services. As there are several other websites just like it, as far as I know, none offer the same option.

Of course, you can always go to the public library to spend a lot less on books. But BookSwim boasts of over 185,000 titles in their library with several kinds of membership plans. Standard rate is about $20 for three books at a time. If you’re a voracious reader, there’s the $36/month plan which allows you to have eleven books at once.
