About An Inconvenient Book: Real Solutions to the World's Biggest Problems - Book Description
The world is a mess. It seems that every time you turn around, there's another problem:
Iran is developing nuclear capabilities. Public schools actually seem to be making our kids dumber. Charlie Sheen has a hit sitcom. Obesity is a national epidemic.
The divorce rates is rising faster than gas prices. Did you hear me--Charlie Sheen has a hit sitcom!
This just barely scratches the surface. Sadly, there's no shortage of problems what we need now are solutions. If only there was a man who could simplify things, cut through the rhetoric and fix everything? Then, if he was just able to put all of that insight into a book that people could buy...in a store and online say, for like $24.99? Man, that would be great...
Wait a minute!
"Inconvenient Book: The Real Story Behind The Biggest Problems In The World!" is that very book the one source for the Real Story behind the problems that seemed too big and complicated to solve (until now) plus their common sense solutions. Think of it as a Hints From Heloise that's less "getting red wine out of your carpet" and more "keeping illegal aliens out of your country"...

written by BookSwimmer on 01/06/2008Glenn Beck's "Inconvenient Book" is a great read. I enjoy it greatly. But for those thinking this is political commentary or information, forget it. It is comedy. Read it, and you will laugh. My biggest complaint is while I believe that Glenn is telling the truth in the facts that he mentions, he gives no citations to check. Thus, while it is a good funny book, don't expect to be intellectually enlightened. Is it worth the purchase. Yes! You will laugh your self silly.

written by BookSwimmer on 01/06/2008This is a refreshing look in a humorous way at the liberal views an how distorted and out of touch with the truth they really are, Glenn nails it down in simple truthful humor. I weould recommend it to all intelligent people that have a mind that can see the truth and sort out the lies we are being fed.

written by BookSwimmer on 01/06/2008If you listen to Glenn Beck's Radio program then the book will bore you; give it to a liberal friend who needs to learn some truths and good ideas.
Glenn is better to listen to on the radio and that's his talent, stick to it brotha!

written by BookSwimmer on 01/06/2008Several years ago the local radio station canceled the Glenn Beck show, giving listeners a brief respite from the constant sreech of rightwing ideologues spouting the Bush/Cheney talking points ad nauseum coming from the line-up of Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity and Savage's unending repetition of the same lies, misstatements and comments taken out of context that happened so consistently that one might believe they all read from the same script. Recently I have caught Beck on CNN and was surprised at how far he has come, so far in fact that he actually makes the occasional factual statement mixed in with his hopeless naivite about the Bush administration and its ghastly mess. This book shows some progress in critical thinking, but he needs to work on his message more and stop admiring the obvious travesty that has begun to destroy the fabric of American democracy from the White House going on eight years now and led by an unelected - appointed president who somehow managed to steal a second term. The most glaring signs of hopeless gullibility is his refusal to believe in global warming despite all the obvious evidence. It almost seems that his hatred of anyone who is a democrat blinds him to basic truths regardless. He still keeps harping - as do the radio cabal he imitates - on the word "liberal", attempting to demonize something he obviously has never bothered to look up in a dictionary for a definition. He fails to note that being a Republican doesn't automatically make one a conservative no more than being a democrat makes one a liberal. Of course he also fosters the misconception of "liberal media" and the evil "Hollywood elite." Of course he is never critical of those celebrities who support Bush, as though only they should be listened to.
As for the quality of the writing, Beck's style is conversational, much like his CNN personna and is easy to read and understand the points he is trying to make. It is just so disappointing that he is still wrong so much of the time.

written by BookSwimmer on 01/06/2008I was very careful to wait for an unabridged version of this. The description is very clear - unabridged.
today I get the package and what does it say in the tiny little type on the bottom of the container?
"An Abridgement of An Inconvenient Book"
It may still be a great listen, but I absolutely HATE other people deciding what I can hear
