The book that I chose for this assignment was Eldest by Christopher Paolini. Eldest is a fantasy/adventure book. Eldest involves dragons, elves, dwarves, and several humans.
The book's main character is Eragon. Eragon is a human and a dragon rider. Eragon's dragon is Saphira. Orik is a dwarf. Eragon is a member of the same clan as Orik because the dwarf king offers Eragon membership in the clan. Arya is a female elf. Ellesmera is the capitol city of Du Weldenvarden. Nasurda is the leader of the Varden. The Varden are a group of humans and dwarves that resist the rule of the tyrant Galbatorix. Surda is a country south of the empire. Oromis is an Elven dragon rider.
In the beginning of the book, Eragon, Orik, Arya, and Saphira travel to the Elven city of Ellesmera. Eragon trains with Oromis, an elf and also a dragon rider. Eragon scrys Nasurda, and finds out that Galbatorix is going to attack Surda. So Eragon and Orik fly on Saphira to Surda and arrive before what will be known as the battle of the burning plains.
I think that this book is pretty good. I would give it an A-. It's not entirely good, because there are some boring parts. I think this book would be best suited to bored people that like reading.
