Rent: I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts On Being a Woman

By Nora Ephron

Overview & Description

With her disarming, intimate, completely accessible voice, and dry sense of humor, Nora Ephron shares with us her ups and downs in I Feel Bad About My Neck, a candid, hilarious look at women who are getting older and dealing with the tribulations of maintenance, menopause, empty nests, and life itself.

Ephron chronicles her life as an obsessed cook, passionate city dweller, and hapless parent. But mostly she speaks frankly and uproariously about life as a woman of a certain age. Utterly courageous, uproariously funny, and unexpectedly moving in its truth telling, I Feel Bad About My Neck is a scrumptious, irresistible treat of a book, full of truths, laugh out loud moments that will appeal to readers of all ages.

rademacher writes,

I think this book is very age specific. I am in my late 20's and found it to be a run on of complaints. When I spoke with my 30 something friends they agreed. But when my friends and I spoke with their mothers they loved it. So if you are south of 50 this book is not for you.
I have enough complaints of my own.

I agree with the above review. I'm in my 20's and I didn't even bother to finish it. It seemed like the book didn't relate to me at all. It might be a great book for some people, but definitely not for me.

PamSFisher writes,

Great read. As other reviewers noted, it is more meaningful to those of us in our 50's/60's.
