Anthony A. writes,

Never judge a book by its cover.. I always try to have this in mind while shopping for something wonderfull to read. But, sometimes its nearly impossible (sigh).. That is why I rely on clever, to the point reviews. But alas, even that isnt always helpfull. Not that I can do the job while others have tried their best, but I will give it a go:

A big, dark, dangerously sensual, arrogant male with no regard what so ever for anything that resembles anything like a brain on a woman, catches his breath after seeing her. A tall blackhaired beauty with deep grey eyes and the look of a femme fatale. But behold, she is not the kind he's used to pay for a quick fix, for that is all he uses them for, but a lady. A real one. Will he be brought to his senses? Will he be tamed? Will she bring order to his life and penetrate the armor around his heart to fill it with love? Or is it she who will be tamed? Or will she give up and leave him shatterd becouse he's to stubborn to accept she loves him for who he is?

The tale to find out is interesting, funny, sensual, exasparating, annoying at times but very gratifaying. A must read for the romantic hearted and fans of writers like Judith Mcnaught. (pls excuse my grammer here and there. English is not my native language).

There have been many "tell all" reviews here, so I won't go there ...

This book is definitely a keeper. Has all the things I love ... reformed (reforming?) rake, great romance, super steamy (without being smarmy), smart heroine, great supporting cast. Plus ... it's an original story, it's smart, it's witty (okay; downright laugh-out-loud in some parts) and a great ending. What more could you want?

HIGHLY recommended. (I shelled out for the softcover AND for the Kindle edition for re-reads.)
Lord of Scoundrels

Steven G. writes,

I read this early on in my trashy romance phase which is still in full swing. I have been in that phase for over 2 years and I can burn through the books when I am in the mood. I have read more crappy books than really good ones, and a whole lot of 'good but could have been betters' and many 'just plan fun to read' too. I have even read a few that I refused to finish even after getting through most of the book waiting for it to get better. Just in case I was too new to the genre to see the faults in this book, I re-read it recently. I still love it. It is my favorite of Loretta Chase. I loved the characters as well as the interaction of the characters and it was always very interesting throughout. I personally found nothing unbelievable in the story line as I can recall personal experiences of similar reactions and interactions among people and personalities I have known. I need no explanation for why she is considered a fem fatal (yet still a virgin) as I am aware that there are people like that who exist. They seem attractive though not extraordinary, yet they are flocked to and desired by the opposite sex while we of the same sex observe the reaction and can't see why. I love him even when he is behaving his worst as somehow `Chase' conveys that there is well hidden depth and strength to his character if we only have the patients like Jessica has. He is perfect for the story line just the way he is written and she just happens to see it. I can understand seeing potential and/or irresistible magnetism in someone no one else sees. Physical beauty is a nice plus, but it isn't always required for that special individual to see you as truly beautiful and feel it all the way to their core. Even after all the books I have read, I still see this as a definite 5 star book. Maybe those who didn't get that were speed reading when bored? Or maybe they lacked knowing individuals similar to the characters so that they could relate? You have to dive into this book and open up. Give it full attention and read every word. It was even in my opinion just different enough from other books that made it feel refreshing to me. I found that every person and every event I could relate to somehow somewhere sometime in my life (although I am an observer type). I repeat, 5 stars!!!!
