Nate The Great And The Halloween Hunt (Nate The Great, paper) (1989)

As Nate and his dog Sludge reluctantly search for Rosamond's missing cat Little Hex, they encounter dancing artichokes, robots, and a dog dressed as Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother. Finally, they end up at a haunted house where Sludge provides the clue to the mystery. Color and black-and-white illustrations.
