Rent: Sex, Lies, and Online Dating

By Rachel Gibson

Overview & Description

She explained the trouble with Valentine's Day (as if you didn't know!) Now Rachel Gibson tells all about . . .

Sex . . .

What is it about men anyway? Bad cars, bad jobs, even bad teeth—nothing convinces them that they can't snare a Size Two Babe with a D-cup chest. And after way too many internet dates with men named "luvstick" and "bigdaddy182," Lucy Rothschild should know.

Lies . . .

But sitting across from her now is "hardluvnman," and he seems different—sensitive, honest, and hot! He says he's a plumber, while Lucy claims she's a nurse! She's really a mystery writer, dating online while researching her next book. Hey, everyone lies a little, don't they?

And Online Dating . . .

But Quinn's really an undercover cop hunting down a serial killer, and he sees Lucy as his top suspect. And while he could really go for this smart, sexy woman with the killer bod—if that's the only thing "killer" about her—he knows he needs to wine and dine her and discover the truth. Hey, he realizes the dating scene can be deadly—but this is ridiculous!

Steven Y. writes,

Lucy is a murder/mystery writer researching her next book by dating online. She's hoping to meet obnoxious characters to kill off in her book and selects "victims" with suitably repugnant net names (like lovestick - but don't quote me). This is how she meets undercover cop Quinn who is acting as bait to try and catch a real serial killer. Lucy has been identified as a suspect because of her online dating history.

I don't want to ruin the story for you so I won't go any further into the plot, but I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Both characters were very appealing and RG builds great chemistry between the two. Sometimes I feel the female leads in RG's books are too self-centred for my taste, but not in this case.

The murder/mystery plot was an added bonus.

Michelle H. writes,

Mystery author Lucy Rothchild has seen a lot of losers while doing
research on online dating. She never thought she'd fall for Quinn, a
man she meets on the internet and decides to meet. Detective Quinn
McIntyre is undercover trying to find a female serial killer who is
using the internet dating scene to chose her victims. When he begins
dating Lucy, it's because she's a suspect. But before long, the dates
between Lucy and Quinn heat up and once he realizes Lucy is not the
killer, he knows he has to tell her the truth about himself. But once
he does, he could lose Lucy for good.

I love Rachel Gibson! Sex, Lies and Online Dating delivers exactly
what I'm looking for in a romance. A sexy hero, a spunky heroine,
smoldering sensuality and suspense keep the reader super glued to the
pages, hoping the story never ends! Sex, Lies and Online is one book I
will definitely be adding to my keepershelf and re-reading often.

This book is one of 4 in a series of books that i think can be read in any order since they are 4 women that have 4 seperate but common stories. This book is a good read. Just investigate the series order first.
