Patricia W. writes,

Let me start by stating that Loyd Eskildson's one star review is garbage. Loyd Eskildson only writes a blog and wishes he was as talented as a writer as Javerbaum, who happens to be graduate of Harvard University and won an Emmy.

This is book brings a refreshingly new and funny perspective to the trials of pregnancy.
There are too many pregnancy "how to" books out there that just copy each other's advice.
Finally I can sit down and laugh during this all too serious time in my life. This book isn't to be taken serious, and I think that was Javerbaum's intent when he wrote this book.

Thomas M. writes,

My wife is expecting so I was wandering the parenting section doing my husbandly duty when I ran across this book. Javerbaum nailed it (keep your minds out the gutter) and created this funny as all hell, smartly written and timely piece of satire. THIS is what great satire is about! And what's so great about this book is that it's so necessary -pregnancy is such a serious and heavy time (babyproofing the place, doctor visits, classes, checking and re-checking diet, making sure your taking the proper vitamins etc etc)with just a general sense of worry that you're bringing another life into the world and you're now responsible for it, that you need to take a break. You need to laugh. But whether you're expecting or not, if you love great satire this is for you. So go down to your local bookstore and flip through a couple pages. Just be prepared for the strange looks you'll get when you start laughing out loud!

David T. writes,

Author Javerbaum feels he is uniquely qualified to write this book - in addition to holding a GED, he has years of experience creating fake news on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," and is a former embryo himself. The book is intended as the first comprehensive week-by-week guide to pregnancy for the prenatal reader - 'full of bogus advice and hilarious illustrations.'

Unfortunately, the non-stop bathroom and bedroom humor quickly grows thin long before one reaches the end of the 191 pages. Now I understand why "The Daily Show" is only 30 minutes long - minus ads, opening bows and applause, and an interview with someone else.
